About the Author:
Joyce Salter Johnson a long time resident of Stephenson County with residences in Freeport, Illinois and Madison Wisconsin. She attended Freeport Schools in the early 50s. Her grandfather Milton Hayden came to Freeport from Good Hope Mississippi in 1916 fro work on the Illinois Central Railroad. Education: Attended Madison College, Madison WI and the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a member of the Associations of Professional Genealogists.
